I don’t hear screaming, so that’s something.I’ve been perched in this dol tree outside of Craforian for hours. No one has entered or left the grounds once, and it makes me both anxious and relieved. No one leaving could mean no one is allowed to leave, or it could mean no one wants to leave. It’s either a prison or utopia, and there’s no telling from the outside.  I suck in a deep breath. How much time has passed? How long have I been sitting in the darkness? I’m losing my mind. I curl into myself and will my mind someplace else—my village, my home, my family. I dream I’m still home and none of this is happening. The torment will fade to a background noise, the pain a distant thing. But, my solace is destroyed. They destroyed that. Never again will my dreams be filled with that small happiness. My escape is now decimated with the utter annihilation of my home. Everyone’s gone. Their screams, the chaos, the deep poisoning guilt slowly choking the life from me.

It’s been three days since I arrived. Thankfully, I only dreamt that one time and haven’t had any more mishaps with my memories since. I’ve mostly sat around, staying out of sight, and constantly keeping an eye out for any issues–or any talnarins. I’m more at ease in Craforian than I was before, but not enough that I want to remain vulnerable and weak.I’ve wasted enough time. It’s time to talk to Abel about starting my training.
