CHAPTER 12

MASTER ADRIAN'S POV:-

After talking to Redford, I finally came up to an agreement. I allowed the other creatures to enter into my territory. I also offered them to do business with us. Of course, it amazed me as much as it amazed the other people of my territory. But I was doing everything I needed to do. The changes were unexpected, especially the changes in me. She was changing me. 

All I could think of a way to turn myself into a better person so she would not be afraid of me. I wanted to be a better man. So she would feel free to jump on me or kiss me or ask me whatever she wanted. She had not felt anything about me like I was feeling about her. The minute I saw her angelic face, I recognized her. But I was waiting for her to feel the same. I wanted her to feel me as her soulmate. So I kept my desires for her in control, so she would not be afraid of me.

After an hour or so, I was done with my work. I was not worried about her. I knew I had left Ryan to take care of her. And as I had announced Eve as my mate, Ryan knew how to take care of the Mistress of the territory. She was my queen and I wanted her to feel that as well. I was eagerly waiting for her to get fully healed. So she could play around and do everything she was not able to do before she had me in her life. I wanted to turn her world into heaven so she would never think of leaving me. 

Budding my goodbyes to everyone, I went towards the gates. Vincent Redford was walking with me. "I hope Valtor will understand his place in your territory. It will be better for you. I know your son is very smart. But Valtor is powerful. Together, they will rule the territory. It would be better for your people." I said as we made our way towards the carts that were waiting for us.

"I better not start having those dreams, my friend. It is impossible to convince Valtor to behave like a family. Sometimes I really think that father made a mistake. Let's just hope he will not do anything stupid that would get him killed. A fish can kiss the earth for thousands of years but Valtor can not be someone my father had thought of him." He replied and we both laughed out loud. Aiden Redford held the door of my cart open first. I thanked him and stepped into my cart. Then he opened the door of his cart and he and his father stepped into the cart. 

I signalled my men and we started our journey back to home. I would have just ran back home if I was not the Master of the territory. But I was the Master and I had to keep my boundaries high. It was not easy for me as well to stay away from her. But I had a territory to run. And if she would not be on bed rest, I would have brought her with me. I stepped out of the cart as it stopped in front of my palace. I went towards the door and stepped into the palace.

"You bloody brainless man, were you deff when My lord Adrian strictly ordered you not to even think of showing your face to our mistress. How dare you hurt her and disrespect her like this?" I frowned as I heard Ryan roaring at someone in his angry tone. As I heard the word "mistress", in a blink of an eye I was standing at the door of my bedroom.

I saw that my bedroom door was broken and Ryan was standing inside. He was roaring crazily at Hayden. I looked down at Eve and gritted teeth in anger. Eve was breathing heavily and her heart rate was higher than usual. Her neck had fresh red bruises on it. As if someone tried to choke her again. Nobody actually noticed that I was standing in the room.

"What the hell happened here? Ryan, what is Hayden doing here? And what happened to Eve?" I roared my questions loudly and they all looked at me. Hearing my voice, a small smile made its way to Eve's lips. She tried hard to hide her pain but she failed. I went to her and sat beside her. As I wrapped my arms around her, she quickly snuggled closer to me. As if she was afraid of something, or someone. 

I glared at Hayden angrily and he narrowed his eyes. "Take him away, Ryan. I don't want to deal with him right now." I ordered Ryan and he bowed his head. He then signalled Hayden to follow him. As I knew well, Hayden never dared to think of fighting Ryan. He nodded his head and followed Ryan like a scared cat.

As they stepped out of my bedroom, I looked at my mate who was still catching her breath. She was more scared than hurt. I stood up with Eve in my arms. I carried her bridal style and stepped out of my bedroom. For the first time, everyone was watching me carrying a woman in my arms and that too so gently. But I did not care about anything. All I cared about was to comfort her.

I kicked open the door of her bedroom and took her straight to the bed. I laid her down on the bed gently as a maid shut the door of the bedroom. I sat beside her and rubbed her back. She finally looked at me and I gave her a small smile. Seeing my smile, she again lost herself into my smile and that made me chuckle again. I did not know why but she loved to see my smile and then always complimented my smile.

I pinched her chin lightly and guided her lips towards mine. She shut her eyes as she saw me staring at her lips. I did not kiss her. I just kept teasing her with my lips so I could find out what she wanted. But as always, all I had gotten was a whimper. I pecked her forehead and pulled her to my chest. As I knew it was too early for her to accept the fact that I was her soulmate. And as I could see, she was afraid of me.

I knew the best way was to take it all slowly. To let her accept me as I was. To let her take her time. To let her feel the way I was feeling for her. To let her be free.
