Magical Tree

The moment I opened my eyes, I was in a room filled with flying books, star like ceiling and moving objects like the tea pot pouring tea on the tea cup. I was in a dazed when a man with white long hair and white rob appeared in front of me.

"Who are you!?" I said while gathering my magic in my hand but there was nothing, like the whole room was justt absorbing my power.

"My, my. You have a unique hair and eyes. The blood of Esquello all have the black hair and blue eyes but you, you have a silver hair and red eyes though your an Esquello" he said as he circled me, examining my whole features. I was shocked that even the magic father to change my appearance was gone.

"Where am I?" I asked him backing away, being cautious in his presence.

"Some call me the spirit of this tree, some call me a god. You can call me all you want" he said and sat down on the chair and drank the tea that the tea pot poured just a moment ago.

"What do you mean?" I asked him being confused by his answer but does this mean we're inside the tree?

"Chat with me normally, you're being hostile milady" with one gesture of his hand, my body floated and landed on the chair in front of him. A tea cup made his own may in front of me and the tea pot poured some tea.

"Where am I? And what do you mean?" I asked him and looked around from the flying books to more objects organizing itself.

"You are inside the tree of Esquello. I am Jai, some call me a spirit and some call me a god" he casually said while sipping his tea.

"What do you mean?! Jai is the name of the deity of magic and prophecy! Does it mean you're that Jai?" I was baffled by him, if he is that Jai then he's that deity!

"In Shait, I'm a spirit. In here in Laer, I'm a god or deity" he speaks so casually as if it was nothing, he's even sipping his tea.

He's a deity, a real deity and I was so rude just a moment ago! I think every muscle in me was frozen from the thought. I'm inside the tree that absorbs my magic and here I am being hostile to a real deity.

This is the second time I'm being rude in front of a god. I believe in the saying 'Third times a charm'. 

"Loose a bit milday, I do not harm an Esquello" he smiles at me while sipping that tea.

"So, why am I here?" 

"You let yourself in, no normal Esquello could enter this dimension without my permission" he's stare at me was getting intense with every word. "You're the prophecy's child"

"I thought the deity of prophecy and magic could be also be tricked by simple magic" now I sipped the tea in front of me, it was a chamomile tea. 

"I suppose the Duke's letting the second miss to be the pawn of the Imperial Court while hiding his beloved daughter"  

"I think so too, but then again why would a deity be inside of this tree?" I asked him being curious now that a deity could be found inside our tree.

"I made an oath with the first head of the Esquello" now what he answered was not in any historic books that I've studied nor read.

"Can I ask you what's that oath?" I curiously asked because father didn't told me that nor my tuitors.

"The first head of the Esquello travelled from the Empire of Laer to the Nation of Shait to find me. When he found me, he was quite bold to ask for my blessing and with that we formed an oath that I will give the whole Esquello Household a protection and high level of magic" 

"And I'm guessing that you're the one that made the prophecy of Dhaer spread through the whole empire?" he nod at my question and poured more tea. 

"And father, said that I will help you with your magic as a great war is approacking" I was shocked that a deity will becme my tutor. 

"I will gladly accept your teaching, Deity Jai" I bowed at him, he gestured his hand and white silvery light enveloped me.

"Take that as my guidance and protection, through that you will hear my voice anywhere. I can't leave this tree bbecause of the oath" he smiled and after that I was awoken by father. 

The sun is setting and Sir Ceao was beside him, I think the time difference in that dimension was big.

"Father" I said and relief was his expression and Sir Ceao was teary.

"Do you know how long you've been sleeping under that tree!?" father hold my shoulders, veins was showing in his neck. I could also feel the frustration in his tone.

"I met Jai" what I said only stopped him. He was looking like he don't believe me but he looked at tree and me a few times then coughed.

"Then should prepare because tomorrow will be the ball and you will be introduced there" he left withhout saying anything anymore.

I was about to get up when Sir Ceao hugged me whiched suprise me.

"Sir Ceao?" I tapped his shoulder that made him pull out of the hug and hold my shoulders like father did.

"You made us worried, milady" his tone was shaking as he help my shoulders tightly.

"Why? How long have I been sleeping?" I asked him which made him stopped and look straight into my eyes.

"You were asleep for three days! We were all worried that you'll never wake up" he said which made me shocked that a 10 minutes or so in that dimension means three days in this world.

"Well, I am now awake so you don't have anything to worry. You need to escort me to some store and help me prepare for that ball" I said and made my way inside the mansion. 

Lucia approached me as soon as I entered the house, hugging me and telling me how worried they were that I slept for that long. I only hugged her back until she calmed down and told her that she needs to help me with preparing. 

I also noticed that the mansion was kinda cheerful and the Mistress and Second Miss was nowhere to be found. Maybe that's the reason that the servants was much happier now.

"Lucia" I called out at her as she helps me wash myself. 

"Yes milady?" she said and stopped at scrubbing my back.

"Where's the Mistress and Second Miss?" I asked curiously and washed the remaining shampoo at my hair.

"They were summoned by the Imperial Court"

"Is that so? Maybe that's the reason that the servants were much happier now without their presence" Lucia only chuckled at my remark and continued washing my back.

It wasn't long after I finished bathing and now some servants were helping Lucia with my dress. As I've heard, the shops are closed now so father called the madam of some famous shop downtown to bring some dresses for me. 

Maybe the ball won't be as bad I thought it will be right?
