Chapter 6:   ME DAY..!!??

Jennifer's POV:

It's been a few days since Ben left for his vacation. He is enjoying his time there. And I am fortunate about it. However as the part of our deal......yeah that stupid deal huh..! I have to call him three times a day. Yes, sometimes it is troublesome because God I'm hell busy with my office work, but I can't just break my freaking promise.

I can't trust the guy........ what if he comes back, leaving his trip in the middle?? No... No, I can't take risks. Especially not in HIS case. He is a mad man. It is better to call him thrice a day.

Jennifer's POV:

It's Saturday night and I am still doing my office working in my room. Fuff.....though it's weekend and I didn't get a chance to go out and have some fun, due to lack of time. I am also working late because I have to complete some of my friend's work too.

. 

Half an hour later, I closed my laptop and stretch out both hands to relax my muscles. As I finished my work prematurely, I breathed a sigh of relief.

" Phew!! "

I rejoice that tomorrow is Sunday. Because this week .....this week was hectic. So finally tomorrow is Sunday, ah..... 

It feels like ages since I have not got any personal time for myself. But I am very much eager about tomorrow. As I have already planned what I am going to do tomorrow. 

Yay! 

Sunday is going to be my day -- ME DAY. 

I just reminded my mind about things that I am going to do tomorrow. Yeah...Of course, I had prepared an overall to-do list:

- To watch the sunrise, wake up early in the morning at around 5 or 5:30 am. ( some may think who the hell wakes up early in the morning especially on Sundays. Well, I do. But trust me it's worth it )

- To watch the sunrise reach the crest of the hill by cycling.

( watching the sunrise from the crest of the hill is an awesome scenario ) 

- And while coming home, roam in the woods.

- After arriving back, take a long relaxing bath.

- Call Ben. ( which is the most vital thing to do) 

- Do some painting, while hearing loud music....as I had not done that thing for quite long. ( Yes I do painting and stuff. I adapted this hobby during my college days along with Salsa dance. But trust me....I'm not an expert in both. ) 

- Check personal emails and reply to them. 

- Collect information for the new terminal project. 

- If time permits....then go for wandering onto the streets in the evening.

- Grill chicken barbecue. ( But I am damn sure that they are not going to taste like that....at all. However, there is nothing wrong with giving it a try. And no one else will taste it except me, so there is no danger to anyone else's life. ) 

- Watch the night sky while seeping red wine and munching Doritos. 

Hah!! In my accordance, all these will be more than enough for one day.

Ahh...!! 

I moved my ass from the bed to placed my laptop and phone on the study table. And headed towards the kitchen.

Ding!! Ding!!! Two new messages pop up on my phone's notification bar. It's from Lucas. I take the phone again to check the messages. 

Lucas's first message: Hey...Busy Bee. Sorry to disturb you at this hour. But tomorrow I am going to Johnson's Orphanage for a monthly survey. And there is a special demand from all the kids that I have to bring you along with me. 

Seeing his first message my jaw drops. F*ck......

I gathered some courage to read the other message. 

Lucas's second message: I called you twice before. But you didn't pick up. And then I also forgot to call you again. So do you wanna join?? I guarantee you won't regret your day!!!

' Why didn't you call him back, Jenn?? How reckless of you!!!? ' My subconscious mind chide me on my mistake. 

Ohh no...

Not tomorrow man, please... I have already planned my day.

Phew!

Dilemma.. !! 

I am in a HUGE dilemma.

Arghhh...

I'm confused. I have already planned my day - ME DAY. And now seeing this message. It's making me more perplexed.

ME DAY or to meet those kids??  Who have become my friends by now... As I had visited Johnson's Orphanage quite often this year. 

However, after so long, I'll be having my day, just like how I want it to be. All alone!!!! Without anyone's interferes. 

But.....

            .........but..... 

Those kids... 

Though I am not a big fan of kids but....but seeing those eyes. Looking for someone's love with hope in them. And asking only one question -- WHY?? 

Why did their parents or family abandon them all alone in this world??? 

In fact, I was one of them. If years ago, Ben wouldn't have accepted me as his daughter. Then I could be just like them.......an orphan.

' Okay then!!!!  It's final. You are going to Johnson's Orphanage. Not because you sympathize with them but because you can empathize with the loss they had. ' -- 

My subconscious mind advises me which was more like an order to me.

Obviously. I'll be going with Lucas to Johnson's Orphanage tomorrow. 

So I texted him: Okay then count me in. If it's the demand from my friends then I can't deny it. What's the timing??? 

As soon as he received my text, he replied: Okay. Great! Then I'll pick you at 9 am. Get ready before time. Good night ;-) 

I accepted his offer that he would give me a ride without hesitation. 

........ But wait!!!!  What about the bestows?? Am I going there empty-handed..!!?? Jeez... No. Not at all. But it's already midnight and all the gift shops or toy shops will be closed by now. 

' Hump!!! Lucas can't you text me a little earlier. '  I cursed him in my mind. 

Now, what should I do at such a tenuous period ?? I can't even cook anything delicious for them. Damn it!! This is the first time in my life that I regret not taking cooking seriously.

Oh, God.!!  Help me out..!! 

......Wait...... Along with that one more thing came in my mind.

Tomorrow is Sunday so most shops will remain closed.

Wow!! 

Great!!! 

' My dear friend Lucas, you informed me well..!! '  My mind accuses him wholeheartedly. 

But I also can't blame him fully because I was the one who didn't call him back or picks up his calls in the first place.

Sunday morning. 

As per my list, I do wake up early in the morning and did go cycling till the cliff to watch the sunrise. O, God!!! That was magnificent. It gives a quietude kinda feel. So my decision was worth taking.

After so long I did some cycling otherwise in my daily routine I didn't get a chance to do such things, not even on weekends. Yes, I did some of the listed activities which can not affect my leaving timing.

After a proper shower, I donned in black jeans and a loose polo neck sweatshirt. While letting my hair down with a side partition. I just apply some skin moisturizer and my usual cologne.  Without any extravagant accessories, I just put on my watch which Ben had gifted me on my twenty-fifth birthday. And that's it. And I am good to go. 

Though I had planned my ME day already... but today I am going with Lucas at Johnson's Orphanage.

I have my coffee and breakfast while talking with Ben via video call about his whereabouts and STUFF. He is having a great jollification with his friends. Along with aunt Marina. When you have her by your side then how can anyone not enjoy their selves? I teased Ben with that. But soon he settles down the points by teasing me back. He implies that I am intentionally going out with Lucas today. Taking advantage of his absence and all......humph!! 

How can he say such things to me when he was the one who told Lucas to look after me. He is such a hypocrite. 

Who said women are hard to understand, eh?? Someone please come and ask me. I have a bunch

of men who are even impossible to talk to. Understanding is far more thing.

It's almost a quarter past nine still, there are no any whereabouts about Lucas!!! Where are you, Lucas..?? I am about to complete my second cup of coffee by now while waiting for that idiot. He was the one to told me to get ready on time and now when I am ready on time then where did he go??

. 

After a while, he calls me and said that he is waiting for me outside my house. So I grab my side bag and walk towards the door.

I locked the door and cross-check all the windows, as they were closed or not. It has been my habit to cross-check everything before leaving. It can also be said that someone intended and make it my habit. Intentionally. Of course that someone is none other than

Mr. Benjamin Franklin Jones. However who has that audacity, except him. 

There was not a single minute or second when his thought does not come to my mind. Especially when he is too far from me. Oh God! I miss him.

Thinking about this I move forward. 

As I walk on the front yard pavement I see Lucas getting out of his car. We had not seen each other since the departure day at the airport. Though he often calls me or at least drops a message to know about my well being or if I need his help or something else. He was like this since childhood. Take care of me like my parents. 

Seeing him a smile forms on my face and I walk forward to wish him, " Hey big guy, Good Morning!! "
