Chapter 7: Hidden Truth

"Are you saying you didn't get the actual person you went there for?" Federico Josh ask his daughter with a stern look.

"Yes dad! I inspected everyone but nothing was found. But i had this strong feeling that, He's actually in that company because i could sense and feel it. I even saw Kathryn over there". Hannah replied calmly as she sips the drink in her hand. 

The man was surprised at the mention of Kathryn and he's somehow worried about it;

"Kathryn?"

"Yes dad"

"What was she doing there?"

"Obviously she also came for the interview too". Hannah replied and saw how worried her dad is; "I know you're definitely worried dad. But you have no reason to be. She doesn't know about it at all"

He let out a sigh of relief when he heard that Kathryn doesn't know about their main objective. "Oh, that's good to know dear. Always remember that, we must be the ones to get to him first!"

"Of course i understand everything. You just have to trust me on this dad. Where's Mum?" Hannah suddenly ask as she prepares to leave.

"Still locked up in her room" Her dad replied

Hannah only nods her head and bid farewell to him; then she leaves.

Kathryn came out of the interview room worried because she was nervous and didn't answer some of the questions correctly. She was destabilize about what happened earlier with Hannah and couldn't concentrate well enough when she was being asked questions.

After she left, the interviewers and Desmond started deliberating on whom to choose for the two positions of marketers.

"Well, we all saw that Miss Hannah Federico is the most brilliant one among the applicants. She should be chosen for both positions. I'm sure she can handle it with her confidence."

Desmond tried convincing them with some facts so Hannah could secure the both positions.

"I understand where exactly you are driving at Mr Desmond. But i think, it's better we choose Miss Hannah and someone else for the position; She can't do it alone." One of the interviewer replied.

"I will accept whatever the board decides on. But i think we should see it from the angle I'm seeing it from. Miss Hannah is just the best for the positions." Desmond doesn't want to give up. 

"Then let select Miss Kathryn Morgan also!" A man interjected.

"Miss Kathryn that couldn't construct her words properly?" Desmond asked with disdain

"Hmmmm, she only made a slight mistake when answering the questions because of her nervousness but she's really brilliant also."

"Exactly! That's what I'm talking about. She shouldn't be nervous in such a situation. That shows that, she can probably do such with a client when hired." Desmond doesn't want to accept defeat.

After a lot of deliberation, they came to a conclusion of hiring Hannah and Kathryn respectively; Which doesn't go well with Desmond but he just had to accept it. 

He left the office for home with anger immediately the meeting comes to an end. All he felt for Kathryn is hatred and anger. Which he couldn't point out what exactly triggered the action. 

When Kathryn got home, she saw that her friend isn't back from work yet. So she decided to pack her belongings so she can leave very early tomorrow morning for Bend. Since she knew how her performance was during the interview.

She was still packing her stuffs when her mobile phone beeped of incoming message. But she didn't bother to check it because of her current mood. 

She decided to cool her head down, so she lies down on the bed and slept off...

**Bend City**

It's was around 5pm while Peter is still at work. He got a message from his long time old friend Vincent. Who based in Hillsboro with his family. They just got to meet each other at Bend not quite long after some years, before Vincent travelled back to Hillsboro.

Immediately he opened and read the message, He was startled and surprised. He quickly picked up his car key and drove home with joy.

When he got home, he started calling out his wife and daughter's name repeatedly. Something he hasn't done for some years; "Helen! Kathryn!! Helen!!!" He kept on calling out their names as he head towards Kathryn room. 

Helen was busy washing in her room when she heard her husband voice. She was totally surprised as she came running out to meet him.

Immediately she steps out from the room, Peter just hugged her from behind which caught her off guard.

"What's going on Peter?" She asked with surprise. 

"I'm sorry for the pain i might have caused you all this years. I was really heartbroken then, that's why i changed towards you. Please forgive me!" Peter felt remorseful and pleaded with his wife.

"It's alright Peter. I understand how you felt when you found out about our child, and that's why i didn't hold any grudge against you all this while. I think i should be the one seeking for your forgiveness." Helen said with guiltiness.

"Seeking for my forgiveness?" Peter was surprised as he utter her last statement.

"Yes dear!" 

Helen hesitated for a moment before she finally explain what actually happened the night she gave birth. At first, she thought Peter would flare up in anger again but was surprised how calm he is. 

"The deed is done already. So we don't have to worry ourselves about it anymore. The way forward is the main priority right now" Peter replied with a chuckle.

"Way forward of what?" Helen asked 

"I will explain to you later but where's Kathryn right now?"

"She's in Hillsboro at the moment. But would be back tomorrow morning according to what she told me in the morning immediately she left the company she went for interview." 

"What! She's coming back? Quickly put a call through her for me and make sure she doesn't leave Hillsboro yet" Peter said as he rushed upstairs to pick one or two things and comes back to meet Helen.

"Tell me what's really going on Peter! Have been trying her number but she isn't picking up. And where are you going to?" Helen asked as she's already worried about how her husband is behaving.

"I'm going to meet Kathryn in Hillsboro and it's a matter of urgency. We would talk better when i get back tomorrow, Okay?" Peter pecked her and leave in a hurry...
